2017 Mercedes-Benz E 300 4MATIC® vs 2017 Volvo S90
When shopping for a luxury car, it can be confusing to decide which is better for you. There are so many brands that have popped up over the years claiming to be “luxury”, but when you dig deeper and get into the meat and potatoes you’ll see that aren’t what you thought they were. In these situations, it’s probably in your best interest to stick with the tried and true vehicles; the brands that have been around since the automobile made its first appearance. Take a look at these two similar models in the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E 300 4MATIC® vs 2017 Volvo S90.
Mercedes-Benz is built for performance. In order to carry out that performance, it has to have some juice under the hood capable of taking the E-Class to new heights. The turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 engine allows it to move from 0 to 60 in a mere 4.9 seconds, while the S90 lags behind at 5.6 seconds. Besides a quicker acceleration, how else do these two compare? E 300 4MATIC®: More Features than the S90?
With the background Mercedes-Benz has, it should come as no surprise that they offer some intelligent advanced features that Volvo can’t quite match up to. That means features like front power lumbar with massage, which adjusts eight different ways and gives both front seat occupants spa-like treatment after a stressful day. Most luxury cars (such as Mercedes-Benz) offer heated front seats, but what about those summer days where the heat gets unbearable? That’s where cooled front seats, optional in the E 300 4MATIC® but not available in the S90, really come in handy. Rounding it all off for the E 300 4MATIC® are a couple of industry-first safety features like PRESAFE®, which detects an oncoming collision and braces the occupants accordingly, and ATTENTION ASSIST®, which alerts the driver if it senses they’re too tired or drowsy to be behind the wheel. While Volvo has plenty of innovative features, it doesn’t quite match up to Mercedes-Benz when it comes to safety.
