If performance is an important variable for you, you’ll want to take note of the power and torque differences between these two. Despite a 2.0L inline-4 engine under the hood of each, it’s the C 300 that beats out the A 220 with much more horsepower and torque. Check out the table below for more comparisons!

How else do they compare?

As you’ll notice above, the C 300 has the edge when it comes to performance. It has been upgraded from 241 horsepower in 2018 to 255 horsepower in 2019, and being paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission makes for a more seamless transition between gears. Meanwhile, the A 220 is the more fiscally responsible option. Despite its luxurious title, the A 220 is priced more similarly to a conventional sedan. There’s nothing conventional about the A-Class lineup, though. Mercedes-Benz has installed some interesting technology in this new model for the 2019 model year. The Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system provides a voice control and touchscreen technology with 3D graphics for the ultimate technology-driven experience. Drivers can voice commands such as requesting certain music or navigation routes, and it even has the intelligence to answer trivia-related questions or share the scores of sporting events. The MBUX system is not available in the C-Class yet, but that will likely change in future models.

It’s hard to go wrong by picking either of these two options, as they both have some striking advantages over most other models on the market. However, the differences between them may make one a better choice than the other for you and your specific desires.
