2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

If you’re not familiar with the models in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, it can be hard to decide which one is right for you. This is especially true of the sedans. The C-Class and E-Class share some remarkable similarities on the exterior profile, looking nearly identical with the exception of the badges. We understand the confusion that may ensue, which is why we made this comparison of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The C-Class is a compact sedan and just above the entry-level CLA, while the E-Class is more mid-level as a midsize sedan with a few more standard features. Take a look at the table below to view their similarities and to get a feel of which one is a better fit for you!

Which Mercedes-Benz sedan is right for me?

The most notable difference right off the bat is the price. The base C 300 comes in at a much more affordable price than the E 350, but that’s because of the standard equipment found in the E 350. As you upgrade to the AMG® models in both the C-Class and E-Class, you’ll find upgraded interiors and powertrains in each.

Speaking of powertrains, both the entry-level C-Class and E-Class models come with the same 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that gets 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. For a little extra, you can upgrade to the 4MATIC® all-wheel drive feature in both. Both models come in sedan, coupe, and cabriolet body styles, but the E-Class also has a wagon option to choose from.

The interior is where these two really look different. The E-Class comes with a larger infotainment display screen, more audio speakers, and an available active multicontour front seat massage feature. While the C-Class is definitely above the industry standard, it falls just a little below the E-Class in terms of interior luxury.
