The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class is easily the more powerful SUV compared to the Audi Q7. But let’s not forget that we are talking about the base trims here. Mercedes-Benz offers a range of different powertrains with different power outputs for its various models such as a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque (GLE 450), a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque (AMG GLE 53), a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 with 483 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque (GLE 580), and 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 with 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque (AMG GLE 63 S). The Audi Q7 also offers other powertrains but even its most powerful version does not come anywhere close to the top-end AMG GLE 63 S. This puts the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class a step ahead of the Audi Q7.
Coming to the interior, the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class is fitted with high-quality materials all around. And the experience just keeps getting better as you upgrade to the higher trims. The base trim comes with MB-Tex synthetic leather upholstery with heated front seats and can upgrade to exclusive Nappa Leather upholstery with heated and ventilated front seats along with power-adjustable functions to increase the luxury aspect. The seats are extremely comfortable and offer all a cozy and luxurious experience to the occupants. Coming to features, the GLE-Class comes loaded with a plethora of features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, Navigation, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and wireless charging pad, to name some of them. Optional features are also extensive with features like 13- and 25-speaker Burmester sound systems, quad-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a cabin air fragrance system, power soft-close doors, rear sunshades, a head-up display, and a surround-view parking camera system, to name some of the many features. Since the Q7 also falls in the same segment, there is no doubt that most of the features mentioned above are also offered in it. But it is the user-friendly nature and never-ending list of features that one can choose from offered in the GLE-Class making it a more well-rounded luxury SUV.
Safety is given utmost importance and the GLE-Class comes with an impressive list of standard safety features like Active Brake Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST, Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call Service, Blind Spot Assist, Crosswind Assist, Adaptive braking technology, PRE-SAFE, PRE-SAFE Sound, Parking Damage Detector, Advanced alarm system with remote panic feature, and Rain-sensing windshield wipers, to name some of the numerous features offered.
