Performance Specs, Fuel Economy and Interior Space
Every 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC® coming to the Mercedes-Benz of Indianapolis showroom will employ the same powertrain set up. The latest version of the GLS 450 4MATIC® will have a turbocharged 3.0-liter, inline six-cylinder engine under the hood that will be attached to the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission. Owners will be able to expect the vehicle to make up to 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Drivers will be able to accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in fewer than six seconds as well as hit an electronically controlled top speed of 130 mph.
The 2021 GLS 450 4MATIC® joins a growing list of the automaker’s vehicles to be equipped with a mild-hybrid system that will provide a performance boost at low speeds as well as help maintain strong fuel economy scores. According to the latest information available from the manufacturer, the official Environmental Protection Agency fuel efficiency scores are not yet available. However, they are expected to fall within the bounds of what the previous model demonstrated.
One of the several things that will set the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC® apart from its competitors is interior passenger and cargo volume. Mercedes-Benz of Indianapolis customers will be able to choose between six- and seven-passenger configurations across its three rows of seats. The driver and front passenger will have up to 40.3 inches of legroom to use. Second-row passengers can up as much as 41.9 inches, leaving third-row riders with 34.6 inches. Depending on how the interior in the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC® is configured, it can offer a minimum of 17.4 cubic-feet of cargo volume or as much as 84.7 cubic-feet of cargo-hauling space.
